It will include target marketing, increasing brand awareness and improving market penetration. A pragmatic approach is required to both yield short term gains and sustainable growth. The job holder will be a key influencer in the sales growth of the business. The company provides a technical product into a dynamic market place and the role of business development manager is to recognise this and maximise the value of the companies offering to meet the needs of this market.
The ideal candidate for this post will be someone who can justifiably claim to have increased revenue and market penetration in hard terms in a manufacturing or technical environment and in an international market place. It will be someone who likes to lead marketing initiatives rather than follow the demands of operational management. It will be someone who can think differently, who is a high achiever, likely to be organised and numerate as well as creative and who can maximise the return on marketing budgets. Fresh ideas and skills in influencing senior management regarding market direction, product development and strategy will be welcomed. We are less interested in candidates who have been primarily occupied with web design, social media, events management and saturation marketing.
