In June this year, Romag’s specialist technical team attended Europe’s largest solar exhibition; Intersolar, held in Munich, Germany. Over 40,000 people attended, making Intersolar an ideal platform to exhibit our innovative Intecto tile and coloured BIPV to a global audience.
The team flew out two roofing systems with black and terracotta Intecto tiling so attendees could see for themselves how effortlessly the PV blends into the roofscape; it was met with a very warm response with the terracotta tile in particular attracting significant footfall. Technical Director Kevin Webster said “The Intecto tile was the star of the show. We were the only exhibitor to demonstrate a product like Intecto with the added benefit of it being housed in a test environment amongst clay tiles; so attendees could see for themselves how great the product looks on a roof”.
“The product is ideally suited to conservation areas where aesthetics are equally as important as performance, and Intersolar gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the visual impact of a solar product geared towards these requirements”.
Intecto wasn’t the only attraction to the stand. We also exhibited stunning glass laminated BIPV using coloured cells. Popular with architects, this type of PV is designed to adapt to demanding design requirements.
Kevin explains “Our BIPV products are very visually appealing and can be used in practically any scenario. We have had projects before where the coloured cells are used in abundance for high visual impact and we’ve had projects on listed buildings where the requirement is to by sympathetic to the building’s architecture and be difficult to spot”. BIPV was a big draw to the stand from specifiers and architects looking to find a product to suit their design and carbon footprint requirements, and Romag BIPV fit the bill.
Held across four days, the exhibition was deemed a huge success, Chief Executive Michelle Woodward comments “Intersolar was a fantastic platform to engage with leaders in the solar industry and Global markets. We had opportunities to catch up with current suppliers and clients and have made many valuable new contacts who have some fantastic projects lined up all over the world. Our technical team worked hard and really demonstrated how passionate we are as a company about our innovative solar products. It was a great way to spend a few days and an exhibition we will definitely be attending again”.
If you missed us at Intersolar, we will be exhibiting again at Solar Energy UK in Birmingham, 13-15th October 2015. We hope to see you there.
