Coloured, tinted glass from Romag can be used for enhanced aesthetic designs as well as exceptional glare protection, making it ideal for architectural and automotive applications.
By laminating coloured interlayers in the glass, Romag can achieve multiple colours of varying intensity and solar control properties to suit your vision.
Primarily, but not exclusively, Romag tinted glass is used for decorative embellishment and can be applied to virtually any glass installation that is suitable for lamination. Many different aesthetics can be achieved, from subtle effects like at St Peter’s Square, to vibrant public art installations like the Linear Garden at Daresbury Sci Tech.
The coloured glass interlayers are stable in both heat and light, so can be used in internal and external applications without colour distortion. When used with our solar control glass, the glass can be used to reduce solar heat gain and for the reduction of glare.
In addition to the architectural aspects of tinted glass, Romag can supply tinted glass products that can be produced to alter the amount of infrared, visible light and ultraviolet (UV) radiation travelling through the panel, this is particularly useful in windscreens but also for side and rear glass in vehicles. Tinted glass also increases privacy levels and is often used by our vehicle armourer partners for armoured land cruisers.
Tints can also be included on laminated, shaped, toughened, and printed panels or units, making them ideal for use in the architectural, transport and rail industries. You can find out more about our work with a diverse range of clients on our markets page.
