Building Integrated PV
Romag’s building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are incorporated into the envelop of the building itself, meaning that there are no external modules fixed to any of its outer surfaces.
We have been pioneers in building-integrated PV solutions for over 15 years, and our experience in the sector is second to none. We are able to provide a broad spectrum of building-integrated products as alternatives to more conventional building materials, which add renewable energy performance to various aspects of a building. These can include skylights, facades, windows, curtain walling, brise soleil, parking canopies, covered walkways and roof lights.
Having extensive glass laminating expertise, Romag has built a strong reputation for manufacturing high-quality photovoltaic laminates in a range of sizes to meet our clients’ specific needs. This quality has been independently accredited to IEC 61215 and 61703 and all products have been MCS certified.
In its simplest terms, our building-integrated solar panels are all built around a glass laminate which incorporates photovoltaic cells. As each product is handcrafted using only the highest-quality materials, we are able to ensure that our clients achieve the outer aesthetic they require, with first-class energy-efficient electrics inside.
To get the best outcomes from this technology, we recommend that architects and installers engage with our technical team at the design stage. This will ensure product design is optimised to fit seamlessly with the building structure and include the most appropriate positioning of all electrical connectors.
