Specialist display cabinets were constructed by client The Workhaus, using Romag low-iron glass. The specialist glass is ideal for showcases, as the high clarity allows unaltered views of the exhibits whilst providing an airtight seal for improved humidity control, helping to protect the artefacts from potential moisture damage in the historic setting of the Tower, which itself is hundreds of years old.
The display cases, built by museum fit out and display specialists The Workhaus, offer a ‘close encounter’ visitor experience and feature integrated top and bottom banding to hide the door hinges. The cases are built to last, and will be a permanent exhibition at the museum, preserving the artefacts from environmental deterioration to allow them to be observed and appreciated for future generations.
